Moy Lodge is set on the western shore of Loch Laggan and enjoys one of the most spectacular locations in the Central Highlands. Surrounded by wild beauty and steeped in Highland history, the Lodge sits between the renowned Ardverikie Estate to the east and the vast wilderness of the Corrour Estate to the west.
Originally built in the late 1860s as the Highland retreat of celebrated sporting artist Richard Ansdell, Moy Lodge has long been a place where people come to experience the rugged beauty, wildlife and traditions of the Highlands. The date 1870, still displayed on the front of the building, marks the completion of the original house, which has evolved over the years while retaining its unique character and charm.
Today, guests at Moy Lodge can enjoy breathtaking views, whether the waters are high and reflective or drawn back to reveal the remarkable shoreline below. When the waters are low, they uncover the largest inland sandy beach in the UK — a striking and unforgettable landscape unique to our corner of the world.

Moy Lodge offers guests the perfect balance of Highland adventure and relaxed comfort. After a day spent exploring the hills, fishing on Loch Laggan or enjoying a trip sea kayaking off the West Coast, guests can gather in the drawing room in front of the fire or they can relax in the study.
Afternoon entertainment is plentiful with both table tennis and a full-sized snooker table. Guests can also enjoy evenings together in the Lodge’s old servant hall, now used as a dance hall — a wonderful space for ceilidhs, reels and celebrations with family and friends.

A stay at the Lodge is complemented by discreet hospitality. Mornings begin with freshly baked bread from the Aga, eggs from our own hens, and breakfast tailored to your requirements.
The lodge is quietly tidied and breakfast laid out ready for you each morning, so that you can get on with enjoying yourselves. As the day’s adventures wind down, afternoon tea appears — homemade cakes or warm scones will be provided for your enjoyment.
Dinner is proper, hearty Aga cooking – generous and unfussy – built around the finest seasonal Scottish produce. At your request, ahead of your stay we will plan a bespoke menu for you, featuring game, fish, seasonal vegetables, and puddings to suit your tastes. No dress code, no ceremony — just excellent food, an exceptional setting, and the feeling that someone is genuinely looking after you.

A special experience at Moy is the wood-burning sauna set on the edge of the loch. With uninterrupted views across the water and mountains beyond, it is the perfect place to unwind before stepping into the fresh Highland air and enjoying a spot of wild swimming.
