Moy Cottage is a cosy, self-catering holiday cottage by Loch Laggan, on the A86 between Kingussie and Fort William. With five bedrooms and room for up to 10, it’s a welcoming base for family holidays and time away with friends in the Scottish Highlands.

Comfortable living spaces offer room to gather and quieter spots for a chat or a book. There’s an Aga in the kitchen, a log stove and Starlink Wi-Fi throughout. Outside, there’s a dog-friendly walled garden, plus covered outdoor seating, a BBQ and a fire pit.

Arrival dates are flexible for short breaks and longer holidays. The Cottage can also be booked together with Moy Lodge, our fully catered, exclusive-use country house, which sleeps 20. Together, the two houses welcome groups of up to 30 guests.

A cosy retreat in the
wild Scottish Highlands

Moy Cottage sits around 12 miles from Roy Bridge, with Fort William 24 miles to the west and Kingussie 25 miles to the east. The A86 runs along Loch Laggan, connecting the west Highlands with the Cairngorms. Find directions to Moy Cottage by car, train or air.

Long before the modern A86, this was a historic coaching route through the Highlands. Horse-drawn coaches and sporting parties would stop here to rest their horses and break their journeys through the striking landscape.

This is a great base for walking, mountain biking and outdoor adventures. Explore the woodland and mountain walks at nearby Creag Meagaidh, ride the bike trails at Laggan Wolftrax or revel in the views from the Nevis Range gondola. The private, dog-friendly walled garden is planted with fruit trees, fruit bushes and roses. A covered seating area, BBQ and fire pit provide more options to cook, eat and gather outdoors.

The welcoming kitchen, centred around a traditional Aga, is the heart of this large holiday home. Cook at your own pace, then settle into the cosy living room by the wood-burning stove — a warm place for fireside chats and an unhurried evening after a day climbing nearby Munros or exploring the Highlands.

Sleep well

The Cottage sleeps up to 10 guests across five bedrooms — one ground-floor bedroom and four upstairs.

The ground-floor bedroom can be prepared with a king-size bed or two singles on request. A shower room is next door.

The main staircase leads to a twin bedroom with two single beds and a super-king bedroom, with a shared shower room between them.

A separate staircase from the kitchen leads to a second super-king bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and a characterful room with two traditional built-in beds.
