Moy Cottage FAQs

↓

Moy Cottage sleeps up to 10 guests, including children and babies, across five bedrooms. Four bedrooms are upstairs and one is on the ground floor. The rooms include twin, super-king and flexible twin/king arrangements, as well as a characterful bedroom with traditional built-in beds.

There are three walk-in shower rooms, including one en suite. A ground-floor shower room is situated beside the ground-floor bedroom.

Yes. The kitchen is centred around a traditional Aga and also includes a microwave, fridge, small freezer, dishwasher, toaster and Sage coffee machine.

Bed linen and towels are provided, along with tea, coffee beans, fresh milk, toilet paper, soap, dishwasher tablets and washing detergent. Firewood and kindling are supplied for the wood-burning stove. Please bring your own groceries, cooking oils and condiments.

Morrisons and Asda deliver to Moy. With sufficient notice and by prior arrangement, Marta and Adrian may be able to receive and unpack a grocery delivery before you arrive.

Continental breakfasts and hearty Aga-cooked suppers may also be arranged in advance, subject to availability. Please ask about current options and prices and let us know about any dietary requirements.

Up to two well-behaved dogs or cats are welcome at Moy Cottage. The charge is £50 per pet, per stay.

Pets must be kept under close control, particularly around neighbouring livestock and wildlife. They must remain off the furniture and must not be left unattended in the Cottage. Guests bringing cats should provide their own cat litter. Please clear up after all pets before departure. If you are travelling with an assistance animal, please contact us before booking.

The Cottage has its own private walled garden, a covered outdoor seating area and a coal barbecue. Coal is provided.

A stream runs through the back of the garden, so children should be supervised carefully.

Use of the Lodge grounds, loch shore, sauna and other Lodge facilities is not included with a Cottage booking.

The Moy fishing boat is available only to Lodge guests or groups booking both properties.

Starlink Wi-Fi is available throughout the Cottage. O2 and Vodafone generally provide reliable mobile reception, while other networks can be patchy.

There is no dedicated EV charger at Moy.

Moy Cottage does not currently have its own washing machine or tumble dryer. If you need to do laundry during your stay, please speak to us — limited on-site laundry assistance is usually possible by arrangement, subject to availability. We can also provide details of laundry facilities in Fort William and Kingussie.

No, Moy Cottage is not wheelchair accessible. There is a step at the main entrance and no step-free route into the property.

There is, however, a ground-floor bedroom with a walk-in shower room nearby. Gravel parking for up to four vehicles is available approximately 10 metres from the entrance. Please contact us before booking if anyone in your group has particular mobility requirements.

Check-in is from 16:00 and checkout is by 11:00. Early arrival or later departure may be requested in advance but depends on availability.

Detailed directions and arrival information are provided before your stay.

The standard minimum stay is three nights.

Christmas bookings have a minimum stay of seven nights, with no changeovers on 25 or 26 December. Hogmanay and New Year bookings have a minimum stay of four nights.

Following the New Year booking, Moy Cottage closes until the beginning of March.

Rates vary according to the dates and length of your stay. You can check current availability and pricing and book the Cottage online.

For direct bookings, a 25% deposit secures your dates. An amount equal to 10% of the total booking price is non-refundable, with the remaining balance due 60 days before arrival. Bookings made 60 days or fewer before arrival must be paid in full when confirmed.

A £250 damage authorisation is normally placed on the payment card shortly before arrival. This is a temporary card hold, not a payment. It is released promptly after the departure inspection and no later than seven days after departure if no claim is required.

Cancellations made 60 days or fewer before arrival are normally charged at 100% of the booking price. If the cancelled dates are successfully rebooked, the cancellation charge will be recalculated and any refund due will be paid in accordance with the full Moy Cottage Direct Booking Terms.

Bookings made through another platform are also subject to that platform’s applicable terms.

We strongly recommend taking out suitable travel insurance.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the Cottage.

If smoking outside, please do so well away from buildings and other combustible materials. Cigarettes, matches and other smoking materials must be fully extinguished and disposed of safely. They must never be discarded anywhere in the grounds or surrounding countryside. Particular care is required during dry weather because of wildfire risk.

The firepit, barbecue, Aga and wood-burning stove must be used carefully and in accordance with the instructions provided.

The Cottage welcomes family holidays, friendship groups and private celebrations involving resident guests. Hen and stag groups are not accepted.

Please discuss any organised event, outside supplier or non-resident visitors with us before booking.

Yes. Booking both properties provides accommodation for up to 30 overnight guests. The group is treated as one combined booking, with access to the Lodge facilities and all 30 guests can dine and be catered for together in the Lodge. Make a combined booking enquiry to check availability and pricing.
